ABOUT

Heather Henderson is the author of Reclaim: How to Stop Scrolling Through Your Life and Start Living It. A former recruiting leader at Google and Uber, she writes and speaks about attention, technology, and what it means to live intentionally in an always-on world.

A first-generation college graduate who grew up on a college campus, Heather began her career as an academic advisor at the University of California, Santa Cruz before spending more than a decade recruiting talent for Visa, Accenture, Google, and Uber.

Along the way, she hired engineers building many of the digital products millions of people use every day while watching those same technologies reshape how people worked, connected, and spent their time.

That contradiction eventually led to a question she couldn’t stop asking:

Did I choose this, or was it chosen for me?

The answer became Reclaim, a book that explores the emotional needs beneath our digital habits and offers a practical path back to presence.

Rather than focusing on willpower or screen-time limits, Heather explores why we reach for our phones in the first place—and how small, intentional choices can help us reconnect with what matters most.

Heather speaks at universities, conferences, and organizations across North America on digital well-being, attention, and thriving in the attention economy.

She lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her Boston Terrier, Ziggy.
